This year’s xmas tree project is pretty simple. I should’ve done this a few years earlier, when Aina was younger, because it’s very easy and doesn’t require much coordination. We’re making snowflakes for our Christmas tree.
So, first, all we needed was:
- A few strands of white pipe-cleaner. We chose the glittery one, because we think it will look nice when the Christmas light turned on.
- Sewing thread. We used white, but I think if you have a dark green color would be better.
- A pair of scissors.
Cut the pipe-cleaners into 3 longer strands and 6 short strands. Then attach the short strands on to both ends of the long strand by folding the short strands in a circle around the long strand tightly. It should form a fork-like shape.
When you have all three long strands completed, you can start making the snowflake. Attach one long strand on to another right at the center of both strand, by folding one of the strand in a circle around the other. It will make a + sign. Bend the folded one so that the angle between two strands is 60°, instead of 90°.
Then attach the last strand like the previous, bending the strand to form 60° between each strands. And you got your first snowflakes. You can make as many as you like…
