Happy Halloween!
After skipping a year, this year, we’re up for another Trick or Treat party at our house. The Trick or Treat night at Chip Bee Garden this year is on the 25 October, the weekend before the Halloween night. And this year, we actually went bigger than usual…
Bigger Theme
This year, we decided to go with the Adventure Time theme. Aina and I (yes, me… the Mama) are a huge fan of the TV series. We could watch the same episode over and over again, and memorizing the dialogue.
I know, it’s probably not scary enough, but we thought it would be fun to dress up as cartoon characters. Although as soon as we started to make the stuff, we realized we probably bite more than we could chew… creating 3 costumes and an ice kingdom for the decoration was proven to be impossible within our time-frame… even with many many days of all-nighter.
Bigger Guestlist:
This year, we decided to invite the Mama Runners SG, which consists of 13 families… not all of them made it, but our house was indeed too small to fit that many people… Guests were spilling out into the road, because inside the house was too crowded. We had problems with group photos, because there we simply too many people to fit in the frame. Yikes.
First, our twin lanterns. The plan was to make 2 Gunter (Ice King’s beloved penguin) lanterns. But it turns out to be soooooo hard to make! After failing like 5 times, Ari and I only managed to make one. And by that time, it was already 5 in the morning, and we both were too sleepy to make another one.
So, we cheated and used one of the ghosts again… with more Adventure Time-like face.
We had to ditch the plan of decorating the house with Ice King palace, because we ran out of time… *sigh*
Then, we have the costumes. Aina wears Princess Bubblegum, Ari wears the Ice King, and I’m Marceline. And we have a bunch of other Adventure Time characters… and Non-Adventure-Time characters.
This year, it was my turn to walk around the neighborhood with the kids. Ari, whose costume was probably too complicated to walk stayed at home, giving away candies to the kids coming in to the house. And they looooooove having Ice King giving out candies!
