So, this was the holiday that Aina had been waiting for: ever since she saw Frozen (yep, that movie), she had been wanting to see snow in real life. Our trip to Tokyo earlier this March was for that, but we were too late. The snow had all melted. And on top of that, Aina was bedridden for 4 days that we couldn’t really go anywhere anyway… (I haven’t written the story about that Tokyo trip).
This time, it looked like we’re also too late by a week… but we were still hopeful to catch a little bit of snow, enough to make a tiny snowman or two… or something.
Anyway, we left Singapore late last night and flew with Emirates straight to Tullamarine Melbourne. The flight was pleasant… good food and all. Aina gladly found out that Emirates gave goodie bags of stuffed monster hugging a small blanket for all the children passenger. She immediately fell in love with the stuffed monster.

We landed a little earlier than scheduled. So we had about 2 hours to spare while waiting for Ramanda, my brother, to pick us up. So we walked around the airport, reminiscing the time when I lived there… The airport has changed quite a bit in 10 years, especially in the domestic area.
After that, we hung out at a coffee shop and had a light breakfast… Even Snowy needs a bit of coffee that morning.

Ramanda came by and drove us to his home… I think the last time Aina met Alika was when we had the Lombok holiday last year. So, the memory was still pretty fresh and they got along immediately when they saw each other.
Basically, the rest of the day was pretty much them playing together. Playing indoor… playing outdoor… playing in the bedroom… playing in the living room… Playing, playing, playing.
Aina was pretty amused with Alika, that she could walk around outside with tee-shirts and shorts comfortably, while Aina was all bundled up with thermal on all limbs… Tropical kid vs. 4-season kid.
