one of the christmas gifts received by aina was a flower pot with a snail on it. nia, ari’s sister who lives in New Zealand, brought it over. it’s very similar to aina’s piggy bank that she painted almost exactly a year ago; it came in porcelain white with a few colors of paint pints included.
compare to last year’s piggy, this one is more challenging. it has many different colors and the shape is a bit more difficult.
as usual, she wants the main thing to be pink, “i want to paint the snail pink, please”. since there is no pink paint that came with the pot, we had to mix it.
she decided what color to be where and refused our help on the difficult parts. there are some spills and blotches here and there, but generally, aina was very happy and satisfied with the result.
as soon as she finished the pot, she asked me if she can put a plant in it. “with pink flowers, please”, she said specifically. since we have no plants with pink flowers in hand, we told her that one of these days, we’ll go pink-flower-shopping. but for now, the pot holds aina’s pens and pencils.
