as we have discussed about one and a half year ago, aina wants to be a ballerina. wanting to be the same thing for 1.5 years for a three year-old kid is pretty consistent. so we decided to enroll her into a ballet class.
last saturday, we went to visit Cheng Ballet Academy and watch the Baby Ballet class. aina sat in front of the glass door for the whole 45 minutes, eyes glued to the kids skipping, jumping and stretching.
on the way home, she said she would like to join the class. all the weekend classes are full, so we decided to do trial on the friday class. which is today.
since this is a trial class and she doesn’t have the uniform yet, she wore one of her favorite dress with pink leggings. she was a little shy at the beginning…
but as soon as the teacher approached her and introduced her to the class, she didn’t even bother to look at us behind the glass door anymore. she was so into it, that even during the break, she refused to go to us and prefer to stay in the class, jumping and twirling around…
pardon the blurry photos… it seems that the lighting there was too dark for iPhone camera 🙁
she did pretty well… she tried to follow all the teacher’s instructions.
although towards the end of the class, her attention span became short and she started doing weird things, like out of nowhere, ran to the mirror and kissed herself. or laid on the ground by herself:
but it’s really cute to see little kids in tights and leotards, jumping and skipping around, mingling in the corner and all…
aina said she loved the class and would like to do it again next week. she had tons of stories to tell on our way home. so we bought the uniform, paid the registration fee and next year’s class fee.
aina is officially enrolled in a ballet class. the very first class ever for her (since she hasn’t gone to school yet).
