aina likes to wear scarf, despite the hot singapore weather. i’m not sure where she got that from. the first scarf i made was a knitted scarf out of acrylic. she complained that it’s itchy. well, i guess that’s expected from acrylic, especially when the weather gets hot and the neck get all sweaty.
so, i decided to make another one for her, out of cotton & bamboo yarn. in pink, of course.
we started with lots of pink flowers. then put it together with a green bamboo yarn.
this time, i made up the pattern on the fly. but since it’s pretty simple, it only took three times to get it right. not bad. but i ended up making too many little flowers, which i’ll probably make hairpins and bracelets for aina (i was going to make her a necklace, but she said she had enough necklaces…).
one thing i learn from this project: bamboo yarn is a pain in the ass to crochet. it’s fine for knitting, but when it comes to crochet, the strands separate so easily…
ps: here is the scarf’s ravelry page.
