Chinese herbs pt. 4 + openings

this is the last installment of the pregnancy bitter tea that i have to take. i’ve been taking these bitter tea once a month, and so far, things are going well.
for the 9-month recipe, not only it is five times more expensive than the prior months’ recipes, the preparation is also slightly different. first of all, this recipe consists of two packets.

one packet is full of herbs and stuff. this packet has almost twice as much herbs as the other months and to be boiled with water. the little packet contains yellowish brown powder.

once the herbs are boiled and there is only 1 cup of water left, the boiled water is poured on to the powder. “just like how you make Milo”, the shopkeeper told ari. and just like Milo, we had to make sure all the powder bubbles are gone.

then, after the tea has cooled down to a drinkable temperature, i gulped it as fast as i could. ahh… my last bitter tea (for now)! what a relief!

after finishing my bitter tea, i went to the doctor to have the weekly check-up thing. we didn’t come to see the doctor last week due to the Vesak day, which is a national holiday in Singapore.
in the past three days, i’ve been having some pain that i’m kinda worried about. and today, it was confirmed: the cervix has dilated and it’s currently on 1cm opening. this means, the baby may show up soon… maybe in the next few days, maybe in a week, or maybe more. but the doctor said that it’s definitely going to be earlier than the predicted date of June 22nd.
whoa… it’s time for me and ari to get ready! *nervous*
