since i finished ari’s hat rather quickly (around two days, which is a personal record for my knitting!), i wanted to do more. so i made my own winter hat to wear for our vacation, which finished right on time.
this hat was based on a pattern on my aunt’s magazine. i’ve tried to make one before, only to end up with such a huge hat that i could wear as a skirt… he he he, my knitting skill sucked.
this time, it turned out better. since i’m working on this by memory (the pattern book is still in Jakarta) and improvisations, it took much longer than ari’s hat. the whole hat is made out of this weird ribbing thing, where the back seems to have twice as much stitches as the front part. i messed that up a few times, before finally get a hang of the stitch. i think i started over three times.
but making pompoms were fun. the last time i make pompoms was when i was in the 3rd grade. i was so addicted to it, i had a whole baskets of pompoms.
